jumping on the wagon

I'm only doing this because I'm a copycat and have to do what everyone else in the family is doing.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together (and you and Nate), or leave one of the first memories you have of me (and Nate).

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

Please to be following the instructions. I need some reading material for during Colin's midnight feedings.

a few pictures

Here are just a few more of the pictures Maria took for us. I think I might post them a few at a time until you're all sick of them. Isn't he such a sweet boy?

pictures

Check out the link to Photos By Maria. She's posted a few of the pictures she took of our family on Monday. We're pretty stinkin' cute, though I say it myself.

stats

Just a quick update. No pictures. Sorry.

Colin went to the doctor today for his 2 week checkup. Everything is great, grand, wonderful. Dr Porter said to keep doing whatever we're doing because it's working. That was a comfort to hear. Colin has gained a little weight and shrunk a little in height. The nurse said that he was probably measured wrong at the hospital, but I think it was his giant cone head that made the difference. He is now 8 pounds even, 21 1/2 inches long, and has a head circumference of 14 1/2 inches. That puts him in the 57% for weight, 96% for height, and 71% for head size. He's not going to be able to compete with his huge-headed cousins, that's for sure! (Sorry Mason and Donovan!) I'm sure his head and weight will grow into his height some day. For now I'm thankful that his head was small. I'm sure it helped him come out easier. Nursing continues to be the bane of my existence. Colin and I are still learning how that one works. But he's growing, so he must be getting the food he needs.

Nate and I are taking Colin over to a friend's house to get some "professional" pictures taken of him today. I think that means that I'll have a bunch of cute pictures to post soon, as well as hand out to those who are interested. And I'll be able to send out the world's cutest birth announcements soon too. They're all ready—just waiting for the perfect picture. Come to think of it, I don't think I have addresses for most of you, so if you would like to receive an announcement (and why wouldn't you?!) leave a comment or send me an email with your address.

That's all folks!

one week (almost)

So, here are some pictures of Colin after we brought him home from the hospital. He's changing so much and growing cuter by the minute.

July 2
This 0-3 month sleeper completely drowned him. At one point both of his arms came out of the neck hole.

July 3
Daddy likes to imitate Colin's funny faces. It looks like Blue Steel is one of the baby's favorite poses.

Happy smiley Colin and scrunched up unhappy Colin.

And then we have the duck slippers from Fake Uncle Doug. I don't think Colin will be wearing them very often, but they sure were good for a laugh. His legs are so long and skinny! And I think duck slippers are inherently humorous.

I was having fun playing dress up and tried on the cute cute shorts that Aunt Hannah picked out. They're supposed to be 0-3 months, but I think they really mean 2 1/2 -3 months. They were ginormous on him. He kept squirming around, and he liked having both legs in the same leg hole.

His feet are pretty dang long too. All parts of him are. Even though the shorts are too big, Colin still gave Hannah "elbows" in thanks for the awesome gift.

July 4
Today was bath day, and Daddy, Granny and I triple teamed Colin to make the experience as painless as possible. He did really well, keeping the screaming to a minimum. And he smelt so sweet after it was all done.

July 5
Not much to report here. Colin hung out with Dad, slaying dragons, for a while. He also was a pretty good little eater and spent some time chillaxing on the couch.

July 6
Colin had a wonderfully poopy diaper, and in the process of cleaning him up, his bed got poopy too. So Colin spent some time napping on the floor on his soft soft blanket and in his bouncer.

He's such a good cute boy. We love him so much and just can't seem to get enough of him!

SupraVideo Shout Outs

So Colin was awake and alive after eating, and he wanted to give a few shout outs to the family.
Enjoy!
