videos?!

I actually took some videos of Colin this week, but they're all at the end because I don't want to try and move them into chronological order. Please to be enjoying the pictures first.

Since the weather has been crazy, Colin has been able to wear his Disneyland fleece that I think is absolutely adorable. It's too bad the size doesn't match him and the seasons too well. 

I think I was proud of Colin's hair, so I took a picture. I don't see any other reason for this to picture to exist.

Colin cheesing it up in his second pair of Whoville pajamas. Thankfully these still have some room to grow so he can continue to be cute for a couple more months.

Colin was eating Mr. Potato Head pieces, so I played with him and made some creations of my own. I was proud of them, and I took a picture. I put Colin in there too so I wouldn't seem too lame for taking a picture of just my toys.

Scott was spraying the little ones with the favorite squeaky duck. There was a little water left over inside from when it was washed, and occasionally the boys would get a face-full of water instead of air.

Colin got a new shipment of hand-me-downs from his cousin, and these adorable pajamas where in it. I put them on him so I could admire just how cute he was. I showed Nate, and he wasn't impressed. My brother Seth wasn't either. I guess guys don't dig baby pj's as much as girls do.

Colin and Nate worked out in the garden yesterday, pulling the weeds around the strawberries. Colin was a good helper, but he also wanted to dispose of the weeds and dirt in his own way, so he was removed from duty.

More cute pajamas from this morning. They're way too big on him, but all of his other ones were dirty because his lazy mom hadn't done the laundry yet.

When Donovan slept over at Granny and Papa's house, Colin and I went over to play. They boys mostly ignored each other and watched Papa be silly.

I finally got a video of Colin playing peek-a-boo in his cage. He does this all the time, and he thinks he is so funny. 

I was eating some yogurt the other morning for breakfast and I shared with Colin. I thought he would scoop it up with his fingers and stick it in his mouth, but he decided to go for a different approach.

Yesterday Colin was cracking us up while he was playing in the curtains. He likes to play there and to look out the sliding door. He also likes to chase people around the island, which is in the second video.

In other news, Nate and I are trying to get our garden put together asap. We have some landscaping issues to work out before we can get started, so hopefully we'll be able to get that done. I have about 2 more weeks of work left before school is out this year. Colin and I are looking for a cheap plastic pool to put in the backyard so we can keep cool this summer. My sister Heather left to go to Fiji last week to do humanitarian work for the summer. My brother Ethan is leaving on his mission a week from today. My brother Grant is leaving tomorrow to train with the Marines in Africa for a month before he gets shipped overseas to Afghanistan in August. My brother Seth needs a job.

Colin's neighborhood friends came over to visit again last week. As you can see, Colin was pretty stoked.

Their purpose in coming was to preform a yo-yo routine for Colin.


He wasn't too interested in the yo-yos, but he did enjoy playing with the Mr. Potato Head with Mary.


Colin was being so sweet the other day, lying in bed with me, drinking his bottle. He looked so adorable that I just had to take a picture.


Last week Colin injured his head several times. I think this particular bruise came from the coffee table. He also whacked his head in the tub and on my nightstand. Oh the hazards of growing up.


He obviously still loves his bath time. He gets so excited when we ask him if he wants to take a bath. It's nice because right before bedtime he gets so ornery and a bath is the best distraction.


Cheese! I love his little buckwheat hairs sticking up in the back.


I tried really hard to get a picture of Colin with the Mr. Potato Head eyes He held them up once on his own, which cracked me up, and then I spent another 10 minutes trying to get him to do it again so I could get a picture.


One afternoon my brother Seth was around and we hung out in the front yard for a bit.


Colin is at the point now where he'll sit in the grass, but don't try and make him crawl in it!


Sunday morning Colin discovered my brush. He poked and prodded that thing the entire time I was getting ready for church.


In the last couple of days Colin has decided that he doesn't need to wear a bib anymore. He tries so hard to get it off, and I just laugh and laugh.

It amazes me how much this kid has grown over the past 9 months. I remember when he used to fit in that chair.


Colin likes to play with his keyboard when he hangs out in Nate's office.

Yeah, we got like 6-8 inches of snow yesterday. I love Spring Break!

Colin is officially done sucking on a pacifier. I've suspected for a while now that he was finished with it, but I've continued to offer it to him just in case. Turns out he's a big boy, and he doesn't want it anymore. If we try to put it in his mouth he yanks it out and throws it aside. He's actually got a pretty good arm. I'm glad he's decided to get rid of it on his own so we don't have to try and break the habit later. Hooray for Colin!

easter etc

Colin had a visit from some neighborhood friends last week. These kids come over pretty often to see Colin. They are so attached to him, and I don't quite get it. They love coming over and entertaining him. They came over again today and the boys put on a yo-yo show for him. Colin had little to no interest, but they didn't seem to care.




On to Easter. This is how the Easter Bunny hid the eggs at Caleb's house since it was wet and rainy outside. There are even a few eggs hidden on Papa.


The kids were playing upstairs while the eggs were being hid, and when they came down it took them a while to notice that there were eggs on the stairs.


Colin's Easter basket. Instead of an entire outfit he just got an Easter tie.


He also got a little candy to share with mom and dad.

We played Rock Band for a while after dinner. Here's Colin rocking out. :)


Nate sent out an SOS. He was really pleased with himself about that.

what the warm?

The weather has actually been nice the last few days. Colin and I have enjoyed going on walks and sitting out in the backyard. Unfortunately, Colin is still apprehensive of the grass, so I have to keep a blanket out for him to play on. I keep trying to convince him that grass is nice, but he doesn't think so. I'm trying to get him used to it before the soccer games start so he'll enjoy playing while we watch. Work continues to drag on. I'm getting tired of having to look presentable every day. I'm counting down the days till summer when I can be a bum as often as I choose. On to the pictures!

Colin still loves his bath time. We usually don't let him go so crazy when he's in the tub, because we don't want him to whack his head, but he really loves to play around. If you don't like naked baby butts, please don't watch this video or look at the following picture. 

When we ask him about getting in the bath he crawls right into the bathroom and stands up at the tub.

Nate is usually the one who bathes him. I like it because it gives me a few minutes to get bedtime stuff ready or play the piano or just sit still. I also like it because it gives Nate and Colin a few minutes alone together every day. Nate grumbles about it sometimes, but I think he secretly likes the routine.

Yes, okay, this picture was posed. He's never put the purse on his arm by himself. But he has played with it many times (and by played with it I mean chewed on it).

I must say he looks good with a man bag though!

This picture is more about the quit in the background than it is about the baby. No, not really. That baby is way more awesome!

Colin got another haircut last week. It didn't turn out great, but it really wasn't too bad either. Nate adjusted a few places over a couple of days. 

I can't decide if Colin looks more drunk or mischievous in this picture.

This keyboard is already broken (and I think Colin might have had something to do with that) so now it's Colin's to play with. He likes turning it over more than pushing the keys. 

Nate and I haven't baby-proofed the house yet, so I'm constantly shifting things out of Colin's reach. Junk gets piled up in the strangest places—at least until Colin discovers he can reach that place and then I have to move it again. He's cute.

He really likes spinning my chair, although sometimes it gets a little out of control and he whacks his own head with the chair.

I think this was during Conference. I can't think of another time when Nate was on the floor.

I gave Colin a biter biscuit a couple of weeks ago, and it was pretty funny to watch him go at it. He would turn it over, take a taste, turn it over, take a taste, etc. Finally he decided it was good enough to eat. He did really well with it until it got too small and then he tried to choke. I thought it would be funny to take it away from him in the video, and turns out it was.

I was on the computer this afternoon helping my brother Seth with a school assignment when I stumbled across this little gem that I made when I worked at PDC. Wow. I don't remember being so talented, but I obviously am. Please to be enjoying my advertisement.

Recipe Friday

Zesty Italian Crock Pot Chicken

2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 pkgs. Zesty Italian dressing mix
2 c. water
2 tsp. parsley
6-8 chicken breasts cut into halves or smaller, if desired
2 pkgs. (8 oz.) room temperature cream cheese

Mix together soup, dressing mix, water, and parsley. Put in crock pot. Add chicken. Cook on low 6-8 hours. One hour before serving add cream cheese. After it has melted a little while you can use a whisk to blend it. Cook for the last hour with the lid off. Serve over noodles and rice.

When I've made this I ususally cut the recipe in half and it still feeds Nate and I 3-ish times each. So basically it makes a lot. I've served it with wide egg noodles (of the no-yolk variety because I'm so health conscious :) ). Nate really likes this recipe and has actually requested that we have it for dinner. Wow! I like it because it's warm and delicious comfort food.

April 1

What an eventful day! Colin took his first steps and started speaking in complete sentences. Nate brought home a $10,000 bonus and finished all of the household repairs he's been meaning to do. I lost 10 pounds and was appointed Supreme Chancellor of the Galaxy. Good times.
