June is bustin' out all over

Warning: Be prepared for picture overload. We had a fun June. Nate's family from Iowa was in town for most of the month. I really should have a lot more pictures, but I mostly forgot to get my camera out when we were together. Also, I'm hoping my family will send me or post some of their pictures from Bear Lake someday...

A sleepy, but happy and well-fed Jude.

I'm not sure Colin has a future as a professional photographer.

Jude was playing with the kitchen, and he kept getting stuck between the mattress and the kitchen. He didn't seem to mind too much though.

Awww, looks like Daddy had a hard day.

He didn't sleep too long once the boys decided to take a nap with him.

Nate and I went to an RSL game on the 7th with my brother, sister, and all the Silveys. (And a bunch of IWCC alumni.) It was fun. We sat way up high and had a great time. I was glad my kids were not there. I don't like taking babies to sporting events late at night. Call me crazy.

We're cute.

I know they are out of focus, but Seth's face is my favorite.

We spent June 8-10 at Bear Lake for a Silvey Family Reunion! We were all there (except for Party Pooper Scott who decided to go not make money in North Carolina for the summer). I had never been to Bear Lake before. I rented a cabin that held all of us, and we enjoyed swimming in a pool (it was June, so the lake was COLD!), playing tennis, going on little hikes, playing board games, playing at the park, and going to the beach. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The view was gorgeous! The water was so blue and just perfect.

I went a little crazy taking pictures of the cabin. Nate tried to figure out the TV in the downstairs living room. (Which was the ground floor, but not the main floor. It was weird.)

The 2nd level living room. (And the deck and hot tub through the windows.)

The kitchen and my crazy son.

The upstairs and loft.

Jude hanging out with Papa while I took pictures and put things away.

The hot tub that I never got in because it smelled like bum.

Sunset. So pretty.

Gray thought this swing was "weird but fun." He wasn't sure what to do with the top part.

We played Red Rover until someone cried. It didn't last very long.

I hate Risk.

That game is seriously the worst.

Nate had lost by this point.

Every married couple (and Hannah) had their own room, and the kids just kind of crashed wherever.

This was our room. The bed was kind of like what I imagine Mama Bear's bed was like. Much too soft.

We went to the beach! It was cold and fun. The kids, especially Kate and Gray, had a great time playing with buckets in the sand. The older kids and adults had fun with the party boat and jetski that Papa and Uncle Scott rented. I spent a lot of time feeding/holding Jude.

Scott tried to dump Nate off the jetski, so Nate was not feeling his best when he returned to the beach.

I didn't have great luck with a selfie at the beach. Also, I hate the word selfie.

The water was tolerable until you got out about to your knees. The it was just too cold.

A picture of Granny and Papa at the beach.

And a picture of Scott Hiatt photobombing the picture of Granny and Papa at the beach.

Home again! I found some goggles in the random stuff in the basement, and Gray was happy.

I'm going to leave this picture small. Kate was the mastermind behind my accessories.

We switched things up and went to the Spanish Fork splash pad with Brad and DeAnna and their kids. The splash pad part isn't as great, but the park part is much better than Springville's.

My baby is beautiful.

More before and after pictures of the basement. I think this is an after, because it looks like the walls have already been painted. This is around the middle of June.

The kids' playroom—my sister's old room.

My mom's old room.

The kitchen.

The living room.

We moved all of our furniture downstairs almost as soon as we could. It's so nice having this space! I can't stress that enough!

I have no idea what show that is.

We got a swingset! I trolled the KSL classifieds for weeks trying to buy a swingset. Every time I called on one it was already sold. Or if I liked it and the price was right and it was available then it was in Brigham City or somewhere equally ridiculous. I finally tracked one down in Orem and my brother and his friends picked it up the same day we moved my mom to Provo. The kids have been in heaven ever since. It is so nice having something to keep them occupied (other than making a mess in the dirt) in the backyard.

I took the kids to Bridal Veil Falls one cloudy morning. It was chillier than I had anticipated. But we still had a good time.

I also thought this was as far as we were going.

But no, there was a trail that went up right next to the falls, so we went up there too. Kate was scared, so I took her and Baby Jude right back down. The boys stayed up with the other kids we went with.

Killing time at the bottom, waiting for everyone else to come down.

Surprise! It's me!

Yeah, Kate makes a pretty adorable cowgirl. She came and showed off this classy little number and asked for a picture.

Cousin pictures! I took somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 pictures, and these are the only ones that were decent. I think the first one with Hannah's rear is my favorite. After Hannah got out of the way she stood behind me and made the kids laugh.

Just the boys. Mason was doing his best with an unhappy Jude. Corbin insisted on holding his bag of marshmallows.

The girls! It's funny that there are (currently) 7 boys and 7 girls, and 4 of those girls come from the same family. Well maybe it's not funny, but it still feels like it should be considered an interesting fact at the least.

We hiked to the Grotto in Payson Canyon with the Hiatt cousins and Granny and Hannah. A good time was had by all. This is one of my favorite hikes in this area. It's super short and easy enough that my two year old could do it on his own without complaint. (The without complaint part is the most important part.) And it ends at a waterfall! Since it was June it was still a little chilly. The kids all played, but only Mason got wet.

Jude was pretty beat before we even left for the hike, and while we were walking back to the car I felt his head thump against my back. He had a nice little snooze back there.

Painting the playroom! With the basement empty it's like we have a whole new house. It's been (not) fun painting every room upstairs and downstairs over the past two months.

Kate at the splash pad. She probably stole that apple.

The playroom closet, all put away. It rarely looks like this anymore. I like that all the dress ups can be hung up, but I don't like that they mostly just end up on the floor in a heap. Oh well.

A place for everything, and everything in it's place. Each kid has a bucket for their special treasures that they get to keep in their own rooms next to their beds.

Nate and I went out to dinner with Bradley and DeAnna before they returned to Iowa. We like to try out different, local restaurants when they are around. This year we chose to patronize The Banana Leaf in Provo. My brother told us it was Indian food. I wish he weren't a liar. It was definitely Singaporean food. But it was great. The gazebo out front was adorable, so we had our picture taken.

Gray was so tired during our trip to Walmart. He let me pile everything around him, and he slept the entire time.

Team Friendship FTW! Nate played 6v6 soccer with my brothers and his brother. They had fun. And they won all their games. We had fun watching.

We most definitely had World Cup fever. I was so bummed when the tournament was over and I didn't have soccer games to watch every day.

Colin turned 6 on June 29th. He requested a Lego Movie cake. I tried to make a Lego guy face, and then I just put some toys around it. It didn't turn out super great, but he was over the moon about it. I love this pose.

He tried to photo bomb his own picture.
