On Friday I wanted to take the kids out and do some fun things before we had to leave for the hospital. Since they love the park (and since the park is free), we went Friday morning.
After Nate got home from work and we had dinner, we went to another park. This is the park with the splash pad right next to it. Naturally, the kids didn't want to play in the water. They didn't really want to play on the playground either since there were so many kids. Colin is kind of used to being alone at the park, and he wasn't sure what to do with all those big kids around. Colin eventually got wet, right before we were ready to leave. Afterward we went to the Milkshake Store (Burger King) to get a milkshake. This was very important to Colin. The milkshakes were not great, but the kids we thrilled to get them.
And now we're back to the hospital and the baby. Here's how Nate spent his time--watching Pawn Stars on Netflix.
More Gray. He still looks the same. I can't believe how much hair he has. I know it's not much compared to many babies, but it's way more than my other kids ever had.

I packed up the camera and sent it down to the car before we left, so I didn't get any pictures of Gray in his "leaving the hospital" clothes or getting into his car seat. You'll have to make due with him actually in his car seat on the way home. And by home I mean Walmart, because we stopped there first to get a present for Gray to bring home to his siblings. They were very happy with his offering of Legos.
I really like these blankets that my mom bought for Gray (back when he was still an it). They're super big and lightweight and awesome for swaddling. Also, they're cute.

Nate washed his head so I could take a picture with him in it.
Yesterday Kate pulled out the hat/glove combo again. This time she improved on the old look by including her purse. She had to put her face up like that so she could see me from under that hat.
So far the kids both love their brother. Kate is hilarious when she tries to say his name, which comes out "Baby Gay." Nate says she shouldn't say his name. I also like to hear her say, "Hey brother." The older kids follow me around wanting to watch me change the baby's diaper and give the baby his milk, and they both like to hold him. They also try to help, which isn't helpful at all, but it is sweet. Yesterday they wouldn't stop giving Gray kisses while he was chillin' in his seat.
Little Yellow Face tolerates his siblings well. Gray has a bit of the jaundice, apparently. I had to take him to Spanish Fork for a billirubin test yesterday morning, and when the non-native English speaker called to tell me the test results I didn't understand her, but I caught that he has to go back for another test Friday morning. Yay. It's so convenient to drag both myself and the baby down to the doctor's office. I imagine if it were really bad I'd have to do the special lights or whatever, so I guess it's not too bad. I've been sticking him in the sunshine during the day, so we'll see if that helps too.

Colin tried to steal the camera and wound up with his picture taken instead.
I am recovering well. I would much rather recover from childbirth than be pregnant, that's for dang sure. I've had a few rough nights, but if Gray continues like he did last night then life will be all lollipops and rainbows. All I need to do now is find the time to keep my house clean and make dinner again and I'll be happy. Weird how those are some of the things I do to make me happy. Sweet Baby Gray is eating well, and I think he is happy and content with life. I am certainly happy to have him here in our family.
