A message from Colin

Hi everyone! I'm taking over the blog today while Mom is sleeping. I don't see why she's so tired. I got up every 3 hours too, and I'm doing just fine.

I just wanted to give a shout out to my cousins Mason and Donovan to say thanks for sharing your clothes! Mom's been having fun playing dress up with me, and I've enjoyed looking good. I love all my cousins (even the one who hasn't arrived quite yet), but these two are the bomb-diggity when it comes to fashion and sharing. Mom's taken like a million pictures of me this week because she's trying to make sure she has a picture of me in every outfit before I outgrow it.

I fell asleep on the couch, so naturally Mom decided she needed to take a picture. I don't know why. I wasn't even doing anything. I did look pretty cute in my green outfit. I'm getting so tall that the legs were too short.

Yay for short pants!

How embarrassing! I fell asleep in Dad's office in a weird position wearing my "fast pants."

A Portrait of Colin as an Old Man. Dad hates the stripe-ed pants. Mom likes that they came up to my armpits. I just like my Tax Deduction shirt.

Here's a video of me going for a run. (Spoiler alert: I don't get very far.)

This is when I wore my footsie pajamas for the first time. Sometimes I like to relax on Dad's lap. It's cool.

Also, I'm pretty awesome at holding my head up when I'm on my tummy.

It's not that I didn't like wearing my farmer overalls, sometimes I just like to cry when I get my picture taken.

Having a chat with Dad.

Looking charming, covered in drool, scary red devil eyes.

It's so exhausting looking so good all the time! Today I got all dressed up to go play games with Mom and Dad and their friends Bekah and Ryan. We all had fun, but especially me. Little Kaitlynn couldn't get enough of me, and she kept me entertained all evening. She even helped me get ready for bed.

I didn't know if I would be able to squeeze into this outfit again, so I let Mom take a picture. I didn't feel like doing any tricks for the occasion.

On Sunday I was once again looking so good. I looked like quite the little man in my Sunday clothes.

Sometimes my dad makes me laugh.

Sometimes my swing makes me fall asleep.

Sometimes I fall over when I'm asleep.

Mom's friend Bekah made her this sling to carry me in, but I never really fit. It's a little small. She can't put her arm down when I'm in there. Hence the pose.

I went downstairs to visit Nana and Mickey. He really wanted a hug, so I gave him one.

This time I got dressed up to go to school with Mom. When we got home she went crazy with the camera.

I really like playing with my toys nowadays. I good at hitting them and making noise. It's a talent.

I didn't want to lift my head up. Deal with it.

I've got a nice rear. I get that from my mom, or so she tells me.

I looked really nice till Dad took off my shoes and pants and strapped me into my bouncer. Then I just looked like a goof.

Sometimes I like to hide.

Here I am kind of playing with my toys but mostly just waving my legs.

Sorry if you think the videos are lame. My mom is still new at this video thing, and sometimes she doesn't capture the most awesome moments.

I guess that's all for now. Li'l Cletus—OUT.

cuter by the day

Here are more pictures of our beautiful little boy. He changes so much day to day that I can't help taking a bazillion pictures of him. And his facial expressions make him look so different that I find myself taking a bazillion pictures when I only mean to take one or two of him smiling. So I hope you're not sick of him yet, because here is another post full of pictures of the thing Colin does best—make faces.

He looks so long in that nightshirt. (I'm calling it a nightshirt instead of a nightdress because it sounds more manly.) His toes are almost poking out. He's too big to sleep sideways in his crib now—he has to go longways, the way big boys do.

Colin's wearing an outfit from his cousin Donovan, so naturally it has soccer balls on it. I thought it would be cute to take a picture of him a soccer blanket too.

Doesn't he have the cutest little bum?

Saturday was the first BYU game of the season, and Colin and I got decked out in our Cougar finest to go to Caleb's house to watch the game. He was a little sleepy when we tried taking these pictures. And he kept trying to cover up the Y with his hands.

When looking at me, keep in mind that some nights I don't sleep so much.

Colin watching the game the way his Dad does—sleeping through it.

When he woke up he had lots of fun playing with his Papa. Papa had him smiling and trying to laugh while they played "Got Your Toes" and other grandpa-style games.

We also celebrated Caleb's birthday with food and a tiny bit of Rock Band (thanks to goobery-fingered children playing with the game disc). Then Nate and I went home and I threw up. Nate thinks it was a bit o' food poisoning from some bad strawberries. I felt like I was pregnant again with my head hanging over the toilet.  :)   That's it for now. Today has been pretty boring. Maybe we'll do something fun for the holiday and have more to post tomorrow. TTFN.

stupid blogger

So, for some reason my posts are now out of order. Please to be scrolling down for the long, detailed post.

mini post for Hannah

Stay tuned for the rest of the update coming at a time when I don't have a fussy baby in my arms. (He makes it hard to type!) Thanks for the gear Hannah! You're the b-e-s-t best. See you in a few weeks.

2 months of colin

The wee one is napping off and on right now, and he's not too happy about getting shots yesterday, so this may be short and it will probably take a long time to type with one hand.

Yesterday was Colin's 2 month checkup. He's doing great! He weighs 11 pounds 13 ounces and is 23.5 inches long. That puts him around 80% for both. Colin was well behaved for Dr Porter. He kicked and cooed during his checkup and kicked and screamed during his shots. But the nurse was fast, and he calmed right back down. Then he got to go out and eat with Nana while I got checked out. Looks like I'm doing pretty good too. I still have about 10 pounds to lose, so I guess I need to start exercising or something. (Shoot.) And, good news!, I'm having the 400 moles on my neck removed! Yahoo! No more awkward questions about having skin cancer or leprosy!

Here are some pictures of Colin from the last week or so. He gets cuter and more fun by the day.

Fun with Daddy!

Fun with hilarious faces and handsome smiles!

Is this Nate's son or what?

Fun with Granny! I like Tia's face in this one.

Another scowl, but I like it!

Fun with no clothes on!

Fun with Nana's play mat and trying on random clothes! I like the way the pants make his waist look tiny and his legs look huge.

Also, I had fun laughing at him with shoes on and no pants.

Fun with the hat!

It doesn't fit his head yet, but we had a good time with it anyway!

Not all of these pictures with the orange onesie were taken on the same day. He just happened to wear it twice this week and look cute both times.

Fun with the big red romper and matching blanket!

I downloaded some of the video I've taken of Colin, so I'll post it once I have time to figure out how to cut it into snippets. This post has already taken me like 10 hours, so I'm OUT!

17 August 2008

pictures are way better than words

Not much to write about. Or I'm too tired to write much. Colin is adorable. He lost his clothing privileges for a while today, so that's why he's only in a diaper in a couple of pictures. Then I tried an outfit on him that was too big, and it made me laugh. Then he played on Nate's chest. We've been spending most of our time watching the Olympics lately. And washing clothes. Colin likes to spit up and pee on everything and everyone. I have one more week of full time work ahead of me, then I start my new job at Cherry Creek Elementary. I'm still not positive what I'll be doing there, but I'll keep you posted.
