Harry Potter bridal shower and other goings on.

Jude ran a fever for most of the week, and I finally decided to take him to the doctor last Friday because he seems to get these fevers with no other symptoms fairly often. The doctor said it was probably an infection, but it would be hard to find where, since his ears and throat were clear. But then he felt Jude's lymph nodes in his neck, and one side was swollen up like a baseball. So we got some antibiotics for Jude, and hopefully all will be well. (I took him to Spanish Fork for an ultrasound of his neck this afternoon and everything seems to be a-okay.) My poor boy was sick and sad, and when I asked him if there was anything he wanted to eat, he said "milkshake!" So that's what he got. It cheered him up straightaway, which isn't a shocker because milkshakes cheer everyone up.

Can you see how swollen it was?!

Saturday was Heather's bridal shower thrown by her good friend Missy Murray. It was a Harry Potter bridal shower, and everyone in the ward thought I was in charge. I only wish.

Flying keys!

House colors and floating candles. Missy and Jessica Swensen really hit this one out of the park.

The adorable food table.

The butterbeer was delicious, and I don't really care for soda.

Petunia Dursley, Professor Trelawny, Bellatrix LeStrange, and Professor Umbrage. Because if you're going to a Harry Potter bridal shower, you go big or you go home. These gals are great. Their real names are Amelia Pullman, Jen Pullman, Eliza Pullman Hawkins, and Tracy Hawkins.

Kate was a little unhappy with me for forgetting her at home when I initially went to the shower. I had to run back home (a whole 2 houses down) and grab her. It was only 20 minutes later, but she was still sad. I felt really bad. The treats didn't cheer her up, and neither did sitting with Heather.

The only thing that brought a smile to her face was her baby cousin Lydia. I'm really glad Kelli brought her. There were two pictures on my phone of me, Kate, and Lyddy. I deleted the one where Kate had a normal face and I looked weird, and picked the one where Kate had a weird face and I looked more normal.

All smiles now that she has a baby to hold!

Kate asked Heather if she could have some of the ribbons from the presents. This is how she asked me to tie them on her.

And the following Monday, Kate decided she needed to wear her sash again. I let her, because you're only 5 once, right? On Facebook I said that she was easily the "brightest" kid in kindergarten. Get it?!

And in case anyone cares what I gave my sister for her bridal shower, here's what it was. A quote she liked from Twitter, and quote I liked from Liz Lemon, and a quote from Parks and Rec. I also gave her a zucchini, an old creepy picture my dad drew in school, two church booklets from 1988, and an 8x10 picture of just my face. So what do you think? Great gift giver? Or greatest gift giver?
