I dare you to find something more adorable than a baby with a messy face.
Maybe it's a messy-faced baby trying to wipe up?
We had some crazy weather. A really mild winter, and then a tempestuous spring. You never knew what you would find when you went outside.
EW. One of the kids requested a fried green egg. It did not turn out well. It looked like plastic. Yuck.
A series of pictures of the kids wrestling with Nate before bed. And yes, Jude is wearing an extra pair of pajama pants over his pajamas.
The garage door broke. I noticed it as I went out to drive Colin to school in the morning. Luckily for us, he has a granny who lives close by who also goes to his school, and she saved the day and picked him up for me.
Walking toward the school to pick up Colin since the garage door was broken and the van was stuck inside.
Off on a mom school field trip adventure!
I decided that I wasn't going to wait for Nate to finish the bookshelves before I started putting the books on. So in March I got out all the books and started filling the shelves. (And it's a good thing I didn't wait, because May is almost over and they are still not finished!)
Looking good! (Nate's books comprise two of the narrow shelves on the far left. The rest are mine/the kids.)
Brothers reading books together on the floor.
Kids all ready for a date with Aunt Hannah. They love getting all dressed nice to go out to lunch and a movie with their favorite aunt. They are such goofball posers. It makes me laugh.
A pie for Pi Day! Thanks Marie Calendars!
Kate loves to pose by her Lego creations.
My kids are blessed to have a fun parent who makes them green pancakes for St. Patrick's Day. That parent is Nate, not me. I woke up to this.
All hail Gray, King Captain of the Crocodiles! (His words, not mine.)
An attempt at an Elsa braid. I suck at braiding.
But Kate was pleased nonetheless.
Green smoothie faces.
Sam and Tia bought this cake at their ward's youth cake auction fundraiser. They brought it to us, and the kids freaked right out. Not only was the frosting blue, but the inside was blue too. Jude had neon poop for days. (Sorry, is that TMI?)
Playing outside in short sleeves! March is crazy.
Jude eating more cake.
Bring me another Smurf!
This is directly after he ate the blue cake.
Nate's new toy. I'm glad to have a grill again. It's been a long couple of years without one.
March 21 we went to the Rock Show in Spanish Fork with Kenny and Laura. Kenny is studying geology, so it was fun to go with him and learn more about rocks. Everyone who walked in got to pick one pretty rock to keep for free! My kids were so excited!
Cool dude wearing a dinosaur bone puppet thing. The guy next to him with the camera is from the Daily Herald. He took pictures of Kate and Laura that ended up in the paper! They're famous!
I loved that there were some exhibits that encouraged the kids to touch stuff.
Kenny pointing out places he's gone rock hunting.
A replica of the Heart of Timpanogos.
Playing with friends at a different park in Springville.
After the park I asked Kate to go brush her hair. I came into my room to find that she had cut her hair instead. That girl. I was NOT pleased.
Gray hurt his ear at the park.
I told him we had to clean it, and he was okay with that until I poured hydrogen peroxide on it. Then he cried. A lot.
Colin loving up on some coupons from our friend Tracy. That boy loves coupons. Like loves them. I took away the ones I thought Nate might use, and Colin flipped right out.
Back at the cool new (to us) park.
Colin wrote a book about building a snowman at school. It was sweet to open up and see that he dedicated it to his friends. (Especially since Malea is the daughter of one of my friends.)
That's one sweet fort! (Made from the fort kit I made the kids for Christmas.)
Kenny brought over leftover waffle dough, and I made Belgian waffles. They are so so good.
Beginning work on the garden. Ugh.
Can you see how bad the weeds were?!
Good thing I had a helper.
Jude loves to brush his teeth. LOVES IT. If anyone says the word "brush" he flips out and starts shouting "BRUSH!" in your face until you take him to brush his teeth. He loves it so much, sometimes he uses two brushes.
Colin's talent show at Sage Creek. His class danced a waltz. He also played a song on the piano, but the file is too big to load. The song was called Christopher Columbus. I didn't force him to do it (in fact, I kind of was hoping that he wouldn't because I was nervous for him), but he said he wanted to do a piano song, and he practiced, and he did a great job. I cried.
