easter!

We had a great Easter. Nate's parents were in Iowa/Missouri with their other kids/grandkids, so it was just us and my side of the family, which these days is just Mom, Heather, Seth, and Adopted Brother Kenny. Here are a few catch-up pictures of the kids, and then on to the Easter-y goodness.

Farmer kids.

Nate and I bought a new camera with some of our tax refund money. I've been playing with it trying to figure out the settings and whatnot. I still have no clue about half the things it can do.

I bought some door knob covers to try and keep Colin in his room and out of mine. After approximately one and a half days, Colin was able to get the door open anyway. There's $3 that I'll never see again. Curse my talented son!

He thought he was being so funny, climbing up on his bed and stealing my spot. When I came in he was holding the book up talking to himself.

Kate's tongue still curls up and back when she gets mad/excited/happy. She was happy here, in case you were wondering.

Colin still loves to make a good mess. Here he is sporting some vanilla yogurt.

DeAnna sent this dress to Kate, and it is super cute. I washed it and put it on her so I could see how it fit and how cute she looked. She spit up on it before I could get it off of her.

Colin gets jealous when I'm taking pictures of just Kate, so I had him hop up and say cheese.

When I changed Kate's clothes out of the dress I tried taking a picture and she was furious with me—probably because of the indignity of having her picture taken in just her diaper cover.

There's something about that face that tells me she knows what's up.

Lenna made this skirt for Kate. You can't see just how awesome it is in this picture, but it was so cute that I had to put it on her and take a picture as soon as I got it. Trust me, it's cute.

A couple other skirts of Addi's came in the mail with the above mentioned awesome skirt, so I changed Kate's clothes several times and held an impromptu fashion show.

On Saturday morning we had a Neighborhood Easter Breakfast and Egg Hunt. It was freezing, but we bundled up the kids and went anyway. Breakfast was super delicious, probably because I didn't have to cook it.

Colin's friend Mary helped him find eggs—for a few minutes anyway. As soon as they let the big kids loose she ran looking for her own candy.

Colin was content with what he got. And he was pretty cold. So we took him home.

Caleb needed help building his retaining wall before his fence is put in, so Nate went over on Saturday to help him. I stayed inside and watched conference with the kids. Heather was out shopping getting ready for her sister's bridal shower. Rachel and Kaylee were excited to have their little cousins over to play.

When conference was over, Nate asked me to cut his hair. He was tired from helping Caleb, and I was tired from being the mother of two. Nate had the clippers sitting in his lap with the attachment on, so I took them from him and started cutting. After a few strokes I realized that I could see his scalp. I freaked out and dropped the clippers and started crying/laughing. I looked down and saw that instead of a number 8 there was a number 2 on the clippers. Nate was really nice about it. He didn't make me feel bad or anything. He just said, "I guess I'm getting a buzz today." He even let me take some pictures as we went.

What his hair looked like when I realized something was wrong.

Rock on!

Nate's bangs.

I wish he would have let me leave the bangs.

The finished product.

The Easter Bunny came on Sunday because mom forgot to tell him he was supposed to come on Saturday. A few eggs were hidden around Colin's room, and a nice bucket was filled with toys/books since the good basket couldn't be found. Good thing Colin is under 2 and doesn't care.

I put 2 Skittles in each egg. When Colin realized there was candy in the eggs he wanted to stop and open each one as he picked it up. He got upset with me when I would take the eggs away and put them in the bucket. After about 15 eggs he finally got the idea and put them straight in the bucket on his own.

After all the eggs were collected we showed Colin his presents from us and his grandparents. He immediately switched out Cracker for Piglet and Pooh Bear. (I bought the stuffed animals at Disneyland and saved them until now. Pooh Bear is technically for Kate. I have a few more to give the kids, but I'm waiting until Colin's birthday.)

Colin wanted to keep looking through his Easter bucket, but he wouldn't put down Piglet and Pooh. That made it difficult to get to the goods.

Kate got an adorable new bib with frogs on it from Granny.

Colin showing off the goods to Seth and Nana.

Nate showing Kate the fun new toys and books.

Colin hanging out with Kenny and Seth waiting for lunch. I made an awesome breakfast and lunch for the whole family. (Okay, my mom helped with lunch.) I mention that because I'm pretty proud of myself for doing it.

I love him. What a good Dad/Husband he is.

Colin got a carrot bat with his Easter stuff. He's decided that now he likes carrots, so he took a bite. Seth wanted a taste too.

Mmmm. Carrots.

And here are my adorable children this morning. Colin was playing with Kate, telling her what sounds the animals make. "What sheep say? Baa baa. What cow say? Moo moo." And Kate just watched him adoringly.

Happy Fat Face.

I have some videos from this weekend, but I haven't figured out how to take them off of the new camera yet. They will be posted as soon as Nate helps me get them on the computer.

Love it! Nate looked a little like Pee-Wee Herman during his haircut but it ended up nicely. And I wanted that dress Deanna sent you but they didn't have it in Sarah's size. Now I'll just admire yours.

Brad thinks Nate looks good with a buzzed head, I'm with you though, I really liked the mexi-bangs. I'm glad you liked that dress, it wasn't my first choice but it is pretty darn cute! I wish you guys could have been out here. You missed out on a really good Easter play...

I'm glad you managed to have a good Easter even though we were gone. I did miss seeing and being with the Ut grandkids too. Glad they enjoyed their haul.

Nate's hair equals awesome. I think that was my favorite part of the blog...even though your kids are always super cute and awesome as well. Glad he was a good sport...most of the silvey boys wouldn't be!
