Dr Porter checked me today and here's the down low—I'm 60-70% effaced and dilated 2 centimeters and the baby's head is in a -2 position (whatever that means!). He also stripped my membranes, which wasn't the most comfortable of experiences for me. At one point Dr Porter had a hand on each end of the baby and was jostling him around, and Li'l Cleatus tried to fight back. He was moving and kicking all over the place. That's my boy! He'd don't take no crap from nobody. Anyway, things are apparently looking good for this baby to come on his own, but if he chooses not to, he'll be forced out sometime after next Friday the 27th. I'm wanting to give him up to the 3rd to make an appearance, but we'll have to wait and see what fits the schedule.
In other fun news, my feets are ridiculously puffy all the time now. The heat is not my friend. I gained like 7 pounds this last week, and I'm hoping most of that is water retention because if it's not I might have to kill myself. I'm really looking forward to being less large in a couple of weeks. Really really.
I don't think there's much else to say. These days I go to work, come home, make dinner, sometimes wash dishes, and then collapse on the couch until bedtime. Nothing too exciting. It looks like our garden is surviving for the time being, but it could probably turn on us at any moment. I'll see if I have the guts to take a picture of my elephant feet and post it here, but I can't guarantee anything. You probably wouldn't want to see them anyway...

Welcome to my world (elephant feet) and I'm not even pregnant!! Be very thankful yours will return to normal after childbirth! Sounds like lil Cleatus could come soon! Hang in there! (what else can you do, right?)
Yea for Cleatus! It sounds like he's preparing to fight his way into this world. I'm excited for you. Although being big and miserable is not very fun, just know that they day will come when you wish your screaming child would just jump back into your uterus so you wouldn't have to deal with his shinanigans. Ok, maybe I'm the only one who has felt that way, but there are days that I think Mason could be better cared for inside of me! Well, not now...he's too huge...but when he was little and he wouldn't sleep or poop or stop crying or whatever the case was. Ok...I'll stop now. yea for 2 centimeters! I never made it that far!
Julie and I are wondering how you got your dr to strip your membranes so early. Most doctors wont strip a first time baby until 39 wks. Anyway, that is great news. Hopefully it will help him to come sooner. Oh yeah, my conversation with you was cut short yesterday. My whole point in telling you about my nylons being ruined is that now I have to wear regular nylons again until I make it back to the mall. The regular nylons are quite uncomfortable around my waist. Oh, and the moral of my nylons story is that you should never ever buy velcro bibs. Curse those blasted things!
Let the baby come! I'm glad you have a progress report. We best get things picked out and ready for the blessing outfit. Will that happen when Brad is here? I don't think I ever heard.
I think I have told you this before, but I dropped over 10 lbs the first week and my legs shrunk to their almost normal size within 2. I am sure it will be the same, if not faster for you. Just try to get some crunches in at the hospital to help your poor saggy tummy!! I hated that part of it all, it was so ugly to me, but it didn't last very long so don't worry about all that!! I am getting so excited for you guys, I can't wait. The anticipation is killing me!!
Um kirsta...I love your hair!
Thanks for the idea Kirsta! Now Donovan might have a cute room. Lenna and I saw a bunch of pirate paper and thought of you, but I'm sure you can find it in Utah too!
