Is it time for school to start yet?!

No really. And can kindergarten please be a full day instead of a half day? I think everyone would be much happier (well, I would be much happier) with two kids gone for 6 hours 5 days a week. Does that make me a bad parent?

Here is Jude singing our night night song. It's from the Lava Pixar short before the movie Inside Out. He sings the whole thing, but not for the camera.

On the 29th we took the kids to the park in the evening because we all needed a break from the house. Nate and I took turns on the kids' scooter and bikes. We played cops and robbers and I think there was a fire chief thrown in the mix too. Good times.

I bought this coloring book for my sister because I love her. You can find all sorts of awesome grown-up (I was going to write adult, but searching for adult coloring books can be dangerous!) coloring books on Amazon. The fashion ones in particular are awesome.

Please, someone buy me this backpack. I promise I'll take good care of it.

My rustic crusty bread had a hard time. One didn't rise well, and I forgot to slash the top of the other one, so it bulged weird and now looks like a jockstrap.

I like to play Legos just as much (or maybe more) than the kids do. I was very protective of the house I built. I kept smacking their little fingers away when they would try to steal my stuff.

It was a lovely little house, with a picture window and flower garden,

a mailbox with money inside and a friendly squirrel on top, a trashcan, a welcome mat that said "Keep out police" (you can take that to mean keep out because police live here, or keep out police, because thugs live here),

a bedroom, a fireplace, a couch and two chairs, a table with room for four,

a sink, a refrigerator, and a stove in the kitchen,

bookshelves and a storage bin for weapons.

All in all, it was a pretty cozy little house for Emmett, WildStyle, and StormTrooper.

Jude loves messes.

Everyone loves popcorn in special popcorn containers for family movie night.

More Legos! Meet Robot Janitor. He rides a horse and carries a broom. He is accompanied by his pet dolphin.

WildStyle was hanging out with Robot Janitor. She wields a HatchetLightSaber. It's very dangerous.

These no bake coconut cookies are amazing. Just amazing. And when you smother them in dark chocolate, they are even MORE amazing.

#throwbackthursday
I went through some old pictures/scrapbook stuff and found some winners. I took pictures and messaged them to the parties involved, but I thought I'd share them here too.

This chant was written for my sister-in-law DeAnna. Lenna and I composed it on a road trip to Wyoming to watch Brad and D play soccer back in 2005. Good times.

My sweet li'l friends from my BYU-I days (Bonnie's kids, and they are like 14 and 18 now. I'm old). The little one's chins cracked me up. 2003.

Me and my best roommate Amy Frederick Hillstead. We got married on the same day, but in different states. We did not wear these outfits for our weddings. This was for a How to Host a Murder party our freshman year. Outfits courtesy of DI (except for my shirt, which was a shirt I actually wore to school) (but only on Ugly Shirt Friday). 2003.

I finished my wedding scrapbook! And just in time for my 11th anniversary!

What the playroom looked like after the kids had been banished there to clean for 4 hours.

Good times with the Wheeler girls. What an adorable group of super heroes.

Oh, Kate. I have no words.

Yesterday I took the kids to Cabela's. I actually took them shopping at the outlet mall, but they didn't enjoy that very much, so I took them to Cabela's afterwards to shoot things to help cheer them up. It worked.
