january, no snow, nate's big birthday

I don't remember the purpose behind this picture. Maybe Kate was just feeling a little left out and wanted me to take her picture. I took it on January 2. That's all I know.

I know this picture is a little blurry, but I love when my kids play dress up. It cracks me up every time. They come up with some awesome outfits. Kate is a pirate Peter Pan princess of some sort.

Gray's first taste of solids. He really liked eating oatmeal the first two days, but since then he has completely refused it. I haven't pushed it too hard since he's been sick, but sooner or later this boy is going to have to accept that he needs to do more than just nurse.

A series of pictures of Gray rolling around on the floor.

The first picture I took with my iPhone. Yes, I let Nate talk me into a fancy phone and a data plan. I'm not proud of it, I would much rather save the money and keep my crappy old phone, but I do like the iPhone.

I also took these pictures of Gray sitting up slash falling over. Gray is learning to sit by himself, and I think he'll have it down in a couple of weeks. He likes to sit between my legs to play with his toys.

Colin took this picture for me after I dyed my hair. I like the color, but I think I might go even darker next time. I hid my face because it was not a good face day for me.

Colin then wanted a picture taken of him, and this is what he did. Silly boy.

Goofs playing in the toy bins. I took some video asking the what they were doing and Kate said, "We're sitting in the buckets, Mom. Reading."

Handsome Boy talking to the pile of stuffed animals.

Nate's birthday!

Nate turned 30 yesterday, and in honor of this momentous occasion we gave him 30 presents to open. The kids were so excited. Colin was wishing Nate a happy birthday every day this week (and telling him about the presents he picked out). Colin also insisted that it was his birthday too, and Daddy could share all of the presents with him. Kate practiced singing the happy birthday song, Colin practiced counting to 30 (he skips 27 for some reason). The kids colored special pictures for Nate too. After he opened presents, Nate went to play racquetball with his brothers, all 3 of them since Bradley was in town. When he came home, Kenny had made delicious Belgian waffles and fries, so that's what Nate had for his treat. And the awesome pie I cooked (with a 30 engraved on it), and the from-scratch lemon blueberry cupcakes with lemon cream cheese frosting will have to wait until tonight to be eaten.

The loot.

Tonight the kids are going to Granny's house while I make Nate a special birthday dinner. Should be fun!

I like Gray's baby cleavage in one of the rolling pictures. He sure is a cutie. He looks like a chubby Colin! It looks like your kids do a good job entertaining themselves...I'm sure that's nice! Sorry your kids aren't letting you sleep much. I feel your pain and have felt your pain since the day Corbin was born...or maybe it was the day Addi was born...or maybe it was before that when I was super pregnant with Addi. Who knows...it's been so long! Ha! Happy birthday to Nate. Welcome to the 3rd decade of life!

Family fun is the best! I can't believe Nate got so old. We had fun with the kids. I never get tired of Gray's chubby, dimpled face. Someday he'll let you sleep. Kids are busy and creative as always! Love 'em all!
