potty champion!

Colin is potty training/potty trained. This week I decided that since I'm finally feeling better it was time to bite the bullet and just let the kid use the toilet. The first day was hard—he was super constipated and so we had a few meltdowns and accidents. But since then he's been almost perfect. He's stayed dry at night and during nap time. He's still learning to tell me that he needs to poop (usually I just catch him when he looks like he's concentrating too hard on something). He cheerfully tells me when he needs to pee. He's enjoyed putting stickers on his chart and earning a few fun prizes (trip to the milkshake store with dad, running amok at the white trash bouncy house place). He loves his Toy Story underpants. I'm really proud of him, and I'm so so so thankful that he was ready for this and is doing so well. I don't regret trying out potty training four or five months ago, because that got all of the fear and basic teaching and stuff out of the way. This time he wasn't worried about sitting on the big potty or any of that. Wonderful. Kate sits on the little potty chair when Colin has to go, and she claps when he's done. She also likes to wash her hands and get an M&M for a prize. Now if I could just convince her to keep her hands out of the toilet....

Awesome. It's rough potty training while pregnant, but I think as long as you're feeling good it will go well. Sounds like he's defiantly ready. We had the hardest time getting Arley to poop in the potty. We bribed him with Woody, we told him we'd buy him one once he started pooping in the potty. So of course on a trip he finally went at a restaurant and was automatically "'Kay let's go buy Woody now!" And if you figure out how to keep baby hands out of the toilet...please tell me! Henry is very naughty about that as well.

Yay for Colin. Sarah's ready in some ways and not ready in others. She hates to be wet so she wants her diaper changed all the time. And she'll tell me when she has to go but I can't get her to sit on her little seat, even for candy! She does like to flush the toilet though.

Hooray for Colin! Glad you both survived! Guess he was ready this time!

So nice and much easier when the kid decides he wants to do it! It just has to be their idea. The best part- diapers for only 2 kids instead of 3!

Way to be awesome Colin! I'm glad I introduced Donovan a little earlier too. At least he knew what the idea was and when he was ready he had an understanding of what he was supposed to do. I'm sure Kate will follow very soon after!!

Congrats on potty training! We just did that too. I was almost sad to loose one of my diaper models. LOL. Weird, I know. Congrats on the pregnancy!
