what the what?!

Nate and I are enjoying listening to our little parrot. Colin repeats everything he hears. He cracks us up with the things he remembers and recites. We're having fun teaching him random things to say—most of which come from the tv shows we watch. I talked to my Marine brother yesterday, and Grant suggested that we teach Colin how to say "magical leopluradon." I think we'll have to try it. Colin really likes music, and the words he remembers best are from songs. He likes to sing "Oh bla di oh bla da ... ha ha ha happy ever after" and "bad horse bad horse" and "got you babe" and other classic lullabies. He also loves his primary songs and has been walking around the house singing "follow the prophet" and "doing follow me." He'll start singing "Jesus" and then I have to run through every primary song that mentions Jesus until I find the one he wants. He recently learned the word "bazinga" too, which has become a new favorite. For those of you who have spent time with Colin, what are some of your favorite things he says?

Colin took this picture of Hannah the night before she left. Miss your face!

Colin loves his sister. He asks me if he can hold her all the time. Sometimes he tries to pick her up without my help (or permission).

And when he gets in trouble for it he is always instantly contrite, as depicted here.

Lenna picked up matching shirts for our girls, and since they already had matching pants we tried to take matching pictures of them. It did not go well...

First they checked each other out.

And then they tried to get away from each other.

And then we got one cute smile and one evil glare.

Next, two evil glares.

Addi tried to escape again. Kate got bored.

And then Kate was done. Thanks for being so cooperative girls! I still think you're cute. And you'll be best friends before you know it. Hopefully Lenna got some better shots than I did.

These pictures are just because Kate was wearing a new outfit.

She was pretty. And smiley.

And then she spit all over herself and had to have another new outfit, which meant another round of pictures.

Yay for a new bow!

And on Sunday she looked so adorable she had to have yet another picture taken! I had Nate hold her because she cried when I laid her down on the bed. Good thing Nate looked good too. Also, when we were getting ready for church I told Colin that we were taking him to nursery where he could play with his friends. He then started listing his friends which consisted of Wesley (a neighbor who does go to nursery) and Bekah and Jack (my friend and her son who definitely do not go to nursery). Silly boy. I think Bekah will be glad to know that Colin considers her a friend. Jack probably won't care either way, since I think he's still terrified of Colin.

Yesterday Colin pulled a Houdini and somehow pulled his arm through the neck of his bib. Weirdo.

And while I made dinner I distracted him with a cool whip lid.

He was having such a good time that I kept smearing more and more cool whip on the lid for him to lick.

And here's a video of Kate hitting her face with and then licking a rattle. Just ignore the voice in the background.

Oh, and here's Colin with two of his favorite friends: Zoobie and Cracker. Zoobie is the BYU bear, and Cracker is the white bear, naturally. He carries these friends around the house and loves to give them hugs (pictured) and kisses.

The end. I'm freezing and want to go read a book by the fireplace until nap time is over...if only I didn't have chores to do instead....

Great blog! I love the commentary too. Bazinga would be my contribution and it is a cool word. I think my favorite thing is that Colin will try to say anything! Kate, Kate, you are one lucky girl to have a mommy who doesn't revoke your clothing privileges and allows you to put on new outfits and bows to match!

I really want to hear him say bazinga. I'm trying to get Donovan to learn it but he just looks at me like I'm crazy. Kate is adorable of course, and so is Colin, but Kate is a girl and I want one so right now she is more adorable. Love you guys, and miss you! I want to see you guys again to see if Colin still loves me :)

The pics of Addi & Kate are so typical of babies that age. I like the one of Addi looking at Kate fussing, like, "wazza matta?" Colin is just adorable as always..
